Strip Clubs: The New Dating Tactic?
Several weeks ago, my friend, Sara*, and her coworker were discussing their plans for the upcoming weekend. Sara went first saying she'd probably have dinner with some friends and then go out after. Her coworker seemed really excited about her weekend. Her plans were somewhat different from Sara's. Although her coworker did intend to go out as well, her destination caught Sara a little off guard. She was going to the strip club.
Sara's coworker is straight and evidently does quite well when it comes to guys. (Her new boyfriend is apparently quite a looker.) However, she admits she has hit up the strip club on numerous occasions. And these strip clubs are not like the ones we all saw in Magic Mike (or at least in the previews). Sara's coworker goes to the strip clubs where the girls are the main attraction.
Although Sara's coworker isn't attracted to the ladies onstage, she does admit there are certain benefits for her at the strip club. She claims that if she can go chill at a strip club, the guys there will think she is exactly that—chill. And who doesn't want a chill girl? (According to Sara's coworker, every guy does.) She insists that going to strip clubs has been one of her greatest dating tactics. It shows just how relaxed and laid back she can be—even in the face (or other body parts) of other women.
Ladies, have you ever been to a strip club? Guys, are you impressed with girls who can chill at strip clubs? Would you ever consider dating someone you met there?

The guys I go for are not impressed by it. I'm sure the guys she gets, are the guys she wants.
Yes, I'm okay with going with a boyfriend to a strip club.I even want to get a job as a stripper. So every guy wants a girl who's chill with going to strip clubs ... I wonder what the guy would say if his girlfriend wanted to be a stripper.
never been to one. I saw this very hot black man in vegas, who was built like a transformer he was tall and it looked like he had on football gear since his shoulders were that broad and arms were so huge and toned but he was wearing a tank top, so it was all him if chippendales looked like him, I'd go to strip clubs. white men with muscles don't really do it for me. they are hot but I haven't seen one that gives me the same feeling that The Rock or this Transformer body guy did if female strip club attendees looked like the Rock or Transformer guy, I'd date him. if they are the creepy or other unappealing guys, never!
I have gone to strip clubs with other females just because they are fun and I like seeing women dance. It's fun, but the whenever I hear about a female going just because she thinks it will make other guys think she is more awesome, all I can think about is a family guy sketch of the one female going to the strip club with her male co-workers and won't shut up about being one of the guys.
Why would you want to date someone who goes to strip clubs? And honestly, if I find out a girl goes to strip clubs, the immediate thought that pops into my mind ISN"T , "o wat a chill chick!" No, I either think, "wow, she's really desperate for guys" or "Lesbian!"
i would like to go to a strip club... i would like to go to a sex shop too. but i haven't been to either... part of that is probably because i am only nineteen... and the other part is because my mother is such a fucking puritan. but if i were to have the opportunity to go to either... it certainly wouldn't be to pick up dates.
Ultimately, I think there are better ways of coming across as being "chill" than going to strip clubs. Furthermore, I personally wouldn't want to associate with dudes who frequent them if I were a woman.
I hang out at the sort of places the kind of guy I like is likely to hang out. If she wants a guy who hangs out at strip bars, she's doin it right.I have a guy friend who picks up women who go to strip bars. I have other guy friends who think it's skanky, so seems like it falls on both sides of the tracks.
i feel like i have to burn my clothes afterward. i've only been twice (both times because i was forced) and would not be unhappy if i never went again.
I go to the strip club with my boyfriend. Thing is im bisexual so I actually do go to watch the ladies dance but its also a chill and relaxed place to hang out.
she just proved she has no personality but a desperate need to be "accepted" and that means changing herself to be anything the guy wants her to be. also, you shouldn't have to PROVE that you're anything, if you actually do indeed possess that characteristic. the other person should just notice it. like, she shouldn't donate to charities just to prove that she's nice.
So she goes to strip clubs not because she enjoys them, but so she can gain male attention and approval? How sad.
You would be surprised at the kind of people you meet at a strip club. I admit that I go and yes I look at the dancers (I'm a guy so of course I do lol), but I mostly sit at the bar, order a few drinks and enjoy the conversations. I have met single moms who could not find a job that payed a decent wage, college girls working tword their doctorates, non mothers just trying to get by, and yes the conceded woman who think she is all that (they are not great conversation). Saying all that, I would not judge and could date a woman from a strip club or even a woman working at one, as long as they are not the conceded type.
@Syaoransbear@xanga - I feel like it's not that much more sad than men who go to strip clubs to gain female images. On a side note, I like going to strip clubs with friends. I think it's entertaining to see who among the group is the most uncomfortable when there is a woman in your group. That and I don't like wearing clothes.
the coworker sounds kinda pathetic. or maybe her reasoning is really a cover up for lesbian or bisexual tendencies?
LOL wow. I go to strip bars sometimes, but it's so girls can shake their boobies in my face, and not to pick up guys.
Could someone explain to me the point of strip clubs? Why pay for an awkward boner and blue balls? O.o
