Pet Names
Honey bun, Sweetie, Sweetheart, Muffin, Suga, Snuggle Bunny, Pumpkin, Baby, Snookems, Sweetums... Pet Names. In the beginning of my relationship, I never really thought I was the sort of person to give my boyfriend a pet name. It sort of just happened one day. If you were to even ask me where some of the pet names I call him came from, I wouldn't even be able to give you an explanation at this point. The one I use the most is probably Poochie (no judgment)!
The pet names my boyfriend and I have for each other are like inside jokes that we have together. I don't ever really use them when we are out in public together, and rarely in front of my friends will I use them.
But, when we are together, I don't even call him by his real name a lot of the time. Do you all have pet names for your significant other? Are pet names cute or corny? Do you use pet names all the time, or just sometimes?

I call her Hun mostly and she calls me Bunny...I think it has to do with my big front teeth. Come to think of it, we rarely call each other by our actual names.
My S.O's name is Dave, he became Daveykins. My name being Michelle, he calls me "My Shell" (his shell). Simple, and they're pretty obvious.
I think calling your SO pet names is so ridiculous and cheesy...except when I do it, of course. Suga buns, sweetums, suga pie, hunny bunny, luv duv, presh-presh.. and the list goes on. I can't help it though, he's so lovable!
im always calling my significant other " bayeee" bapkins ... just random nick names he has accumulated over the past few years
yes, his name is my sex slave. Kidding, I'm single now but when I was younger it was the generic crap like "baby, hun etc."During my last and recent relationship, it was hard and awkward as fuck trudging into the "pet name" territory so there was never really pet names regardless of the emotional and physical intimacy. One night I awoke to some dogs barking and was sitting up. And he's like "babe, just lie down and try to sleep" and fell back asleep. I guess it's becoming harder for me to use pet names as I grow. They are a bit corny but its a form of affection and it just has to come not forced.
i don't know, but poochie makes me think of fat lower abdomen hanging down over a belt or something.
I Like Petnames. I've never been brave enough to say the petnames I think of for other people, friends, and of course, My Lover...but I Think them. I make up nicknames for people and will call them that, but a petname is like the softer version of a nickname, a highly specialized nickname.
I would probably come up with something ridiculous. I'm pretty sure I've had dumb pet names for an SO, but they were so silly I forgot. I used to have my ex in my phone as "The Boy", which I thought was kind of cool.On a weird flipside, my brother and I have nicknames for each other and every time we call each other that in public and a friend asks us to explain, they think it's so cute lol. I call him Topher (his name is Christopher) and he calls me Sica (I'm Jessica). It just kind of stuck one day.
